The end of summer came earlier for us than most. We live in the only school district in our state that is year round. Therefore, school started on July 15th for Ellie.
The girl could not have been more excited. She loves to learn and so while I was hesitant to let her go, it was much easier knowing she wanted to go so much.
There was a tearful moment the night before school started, but the next day we were both fine. She marched onto that bus and never looked back. She was bummed out when weekends came and in the first 9 weeks she only complained once about having to go to school when she knew Jack was going to be doing something fun with mom that day.
Since we are year round she has 9 weeks on and then 3 weeks off. We've already gone through a cycle break and are back for another 9 weeks. I LOVE the year round schedule. Sadly, it looks like it may be it's last year. They are proposing a change for next year.
Surprisingly sending her back the second time was harder than the first. She was so pleasant those 3 weeks and I was sad to see it end. She continues to love school though so I guess we'll keep sending her.
Off she goes!! You can tell it was like a billion degrees outside from my foggy camera lens.
All the neighborhood kids + Jack
Climbing on for the first time.
Headed to class - see, no looking back. Such a big girl!
