The Birds and the Bees

A Sex Story (plant sex story, so you can relax)
Have I told you how much I like our neighbors? They are great people and it's a good place for our kids to play. Our neighbors immediately to our right are from the south. True southerners - with accents even. Dave, the man of the house, is a very nice sensible guy. When we first moved in Greg was out making small talk with him and noticed that he had a Ginkgo tree. For those of you who don't know (don't feel badly if ya don't cause I didn't) Ginkgo trees are either male or female. If one wants to plant them in their yard you would want to do one of the male varieties since the female trees stink. So as Greg was talking to Dave he was running out of things to say and so proceeded to ask Dave if he had "sexed his tree". From what Greg relayed to me, it didn't go over so well. We haven't seen much of Dave since.

Moral of the story - keep the "sex" talk to a minimum if not out of the conversation all together when trying to get to know someone.

perhaps a "so. . . do you know if your tree is a girl or boy tree?" would have been better. :)

nice one greg.

Nice, indeed. I liked Greg's idea of color-coding and framing your childrens' genetic maps, or something of the sort.
Memorial day the odds are likely we'll be in Utah (for most of May-early June). Maybe later in June? Hope we can figure something out.

bahaha! I have to admit that WAS a pretty awkward comment Greg. Which from my experience with Greg doesn't seem like he would have many of these, he is a very talented conversationalists. However, this is so funny, and gave us a really really good laugh. HAhaha! Thanks for that Greg!

Maybe Greg secretly wasn't really fond of the guy, in which case he said the perfect thing. Or else he's just like Derek who likened working on an old Ford Bronco with his Dad to doing vaginal laceration repairs .... sometimes these brainy guys forget who they're talking to. :)
